Life. Love. Laughs. No Playbook Required.

Well, here we go. Apparently, falling in love, blending families, juggling kids, traveling all over the place, and trying to keep up with everyday life just wasn’t enough excitement for us.

So naturally, we decided to start a blog AND a video podcast.

Because clearly, we have too much free time. 😂

Welcome to 4th & Stitches!

We’re Brian and Mitzi. Two people who found each other a little later in life, fell head over heels, and somehow decided that navigating this crazy world together sounded like a fantastic idea.

And honestly? So far, it has been.

Now, that doesn’t mean we always know what we’re doing. In fact, there’s a pretty good chance that at any given moment, one of us has a plan and the other one is completely ignoring it. We’ll let you figure out who’s who.

Spoiler alert: We both think we’re the reasonable one.

Brian is the quick-witted, sarcastic one who always seems to have a comeback ready. And me? Well, let’s just say I’ve learned to appreciate his sense of humor… most of the time. 😂

The good news is that he keeps me laughing. The bad news is that he knows it, and I’m pretty sure that’s only encouraged him.

Our story actually started in the sewing industry. Yep, sewing machines. Not a dating app. Not some romantic chance encounter at a coffee shop. Sewing machines.

Who knew bobbins, thread, and a bunch of people talking about embroidery could eventually lead to a love story?

Apparently, Cupid had a booth at a quilt show.

Since then, life has been one big adventure. Between blended family life, road trips, football, work, kids, and the occasional moment of wondering how in the world we ended up in whatever situation we’re currently in, we’ve learned one very important thing:

Sometimes you just have to laugh. Preferably before somebody loses their mind.

We’re not the picture-perfect couple with matching outfits, perfectly organized calendars, and inspirational quotes hanging in every room.

We’re more like the couple who will laugh until we can’t breathe over something nobody else finds funny, get completely sidetracked in the middle of a conversation, and probably turn a quick trip somewhere into a story that takes three days to tell.

And yes, we might occasionally disagree.

Shocking, we know.

But here’s the thing: we genuinely love doing life together. The big adventures, the little moments, the chaos, the quiet evenings, and even the days when absolutely nothing goes according to plan.

And somewhere along the way, we started thinking, “You know what? We should probably share some of this.”

Which brings us here.

You’ll find stories about our adventures, blended family life, relationships, traveling, work, football, sewing, and whatever else happens to come out of our mouths.

Some days we’ll be sweet. Some days we’ll be sarcastic. Some days we’ll probably wonder why we thought putting our conversations on the internet was a good idea.

And when the video podcast gets rolling, well… let’s just say there’s a reason we’re not planning to use a script.

What could possibly go wrong?

So pull up a chair, grab your favorite drink, and come hang out with us. We don’t have all the answers, we’re definitely not claiming to be experts, and there’s a good chance we’ll be laughing at ourselves more than anything else.

But we’re building a life we love, making memories along the way, and having one heck of a good time doing it.

And if you happen to laugh with us, relate to something we’ve been through, or just feel a little better knowing someone else’s life is as wonderfully ridiculous as yours, then we’re doing something right.
